Resumen
Stroke remains one of the most serious complications of sickle cell disease. Near 11% of the patients will have a stroke before the age of 20. Most cases are from ischemic stroke, but a small part are hemorrhagic which have a higher mortality. We present the case of a 19 year-old patient, with sickle cell disease and multiple associated complications. He was admitted with acute chest syndrome and developed a hemorrhagic stroke while hospitalized.Galicia Clínica by Sociedad Gallega de Medicina Interna is licensed under a Creative Commons Reconocimiento-NoComercial-SinObraDerivada 4.0 Internacional License.
