Abstract
Lead poisoning is considered a public health problem worldwide due to the ubiquity of this metal and its wide distribution. Millions of people are at risk of suffering from lead poisoning; therefore, it is important to preventive and monitoring plans.Several studies have shown that even low blood concentrations of lead can produce deleterious health effects, depending on the duration of exposure. Lead poisoning can produce multisystemic involvement, so it is necessary to perform an exhaustive study in those patients with significant concentrations of this metal and to perform a chelating treatment in those who need it.
